50 Best Golf Teachers in America
“I don't teach golf for the recognition, but seeing my name on Golf Digest's list of America's 50 Best Teachers is special. To start, I've been a Golf Digest reader and fan since I started caring about golf—when I was in a Hauppauge elementary school. I have a complete set of issues going back to when the magazine started, in the 1950s. I was even lucky enough to get my hands on some of the artwork that was in the Golf Digest headquarters when they were doing a redesign of their space a few years ago.
Beyond the connection with Golf Digest, I'm very proud of the fact that I'm a head professional at a public golf course. Most of the other coaches are dedicated swing instructors who work at their own academies or out on the professional tours. I do all of my teaching and scientific research alongside running the shop, buying the range balls and being a part of the Rock Hill Golf & Country Club community.
And thanks to you in that community—both at Rock Hill and those of you visit from around Long Island and the rest of the world—I've been able to build something very unique and special here over the two decades. It might be the only place in the world where you can get your swing analyzed on cutting edge 3D measurement software, book a group outing with 35 of your golf buddies, and hit balls next to a multiple major championship winner, firefighter, hedge fund manager and Division I NCAA All America.
It's a great place to be, and I can't wait to see all of you again in the spring.
